Good-Bye January!

Calendar to keep track of my School related things. In red are important things due. Stars indicate an event/task I have to do that day that require me to leave the house and need to refer to my event calendar.  

So the first month of 2013 is done with. Which is also my first month of DAP. I realized I'm taking a lot of courses and can not handle a part time job with this. So would have to be extra frugal now to compensate. So, my February is already looking very bad.. and I'm already in a very bad spot. The stress... ><"
Recalling Jan:
-bored at work at bookstore cuz got send to do shelving a lot =_=
-had a fun rush party cuz this time met more ppl
-glad I have a friend in 2 of classes... so much less lonely!
-ppl in my classes not as I've imagined them to be.. (business attires..etc.. but no.. everyone look so casual..)
-coincidentally met someone from bookstore in tax class (yay buddy)
- met other ppl by them asking me for help ( for email about assignment / copying notes)
-intense meet up for discussing europe trip! I"m really excited.. and really hope it'll happen... but..
-attended first networking event.. ( felt very awkward..and did embarrassing things... hope next ones would be better)
-99 boundary bus driver let me off at a non bus stop =_=
-stayed up til 3am + to work on MIS project.. and now my sleeping schedule is messed up again...
And to start FEB out... I forget to get Upass... so had to ask bus driver to let me on bus XD

I need to work harder... FOCUS!!!!!!!

Life

Life is FuNnY. I wonder, can one change their destiny? Is there such thing as fate? Hmmmmmm.....

Dine Vancouver 2012 - Horizon

Resolution for 2012: Update Blog with ....stuff!!!!



This year for Dine Out Vancouver I went to Horizon Restaurant on top of Burnaby Mountain with my gals for a classy dinner! I think this is the most expensive dinner I've ever paid for! $28 + tax + tips = $35. But it was well worth the experience! And quality time spent with friends:)

For appetizer I got the leek and potato soup. It was quite good. Very rich texture. For the entree, I chose the 8 oz New York Steak with nugget pototoes. Since I don't like raw food, I've gotten mine medium done. Therefore, this resulted in my steak being a bit more chewy. I wonder if there is something between a medium rare and medium done. Medium? Finally comes dessert. The creme brule was quite good, except for the burnt part which caused this lingering burnt taste. =/

On a side note; Prior to dinner that night, numerous not so well things happened:  protein gel did not turn out well, autoclave machine went wacko on me, missed my buses, and sister's attitude resulted in me under-dress.  ><"

Baden Powell Trail -Part 1

This is long overdue.

I believed we went in late July 2011.
We started the hike at Deep Cove. ( 11am?)

The entrance to the hike is between 2 houses! What a weird location. Wonder how the residents feel when so many strangers go on their property.

First hour or so, was mostly uphills. But these hills were not as steep as grouse. There were mini platforms/bridges along the way and mini streams! The path is quite popular too. I soon found out why, because it is a relative easy hike from Deep Cove to Quarry Rock. (~1hour). Quarry Rock ( 2 huge rock) consist of an breath taking view overlooking deep cove.

Endless road. So clueless...

Next, when turning out of Quarry Rock, got to take the RIGht hand trail that goes through a narrow way of shrubs. A few minutes in would lead to the roadside. The road seem to go endlessly in both direction. We were completely stump on where to go. There were no clear signs as to where to continue the trail. Luckily, saw a jogger and asked her. Turn Left, and walk down along the road side. On left hand side would notice that there are tress labeled with the orange tag indicating the Baden Powell trail. Will pass by a house in the middle of no where. On Right hand side would see a post and the entrance to the trail.


Less than an hour hike from that entrance to the next entrance, which was at Seymour Park region.

Just across the street is the entrance to the trail again. If i remembered correctly, this part was a bit rough and long. Some part of the trail had rocky surfaces. HAVE to be careful with watching the orange tags. In the middle of the trail we got lost and was off track.
There are a lot of other trails intersecting. Look at maps and look at the post to see if going in the right direction... Ended up asking some park rangers and then following a family.

Eventually was able to took a different path to reconnect back with the trail. Ended up at this point where if you go out, you would see residential area. ( Probably can find a bus to bus home-Riverside ) There is also a big waterfall area fenced off. Continuing on, we went up this STEEP flight of stairs!

I remembered that the next part was sorta of dangerous, and because of no real foot grip along the trail and it was steep! More uphill! Continue, continue, then we end up at this weird area that looks like an empty gravel road which maintenance cars would go along to fix power lines or something. We just walked along that rocky road, hoping we were going in the right direction. Eventually, we came to an clearing and see cars and a small parking area. Lunch break!

Now it was mostly downhills. Becareful! Quite dangerous! We saw a lot of bikers along the way! THEY ARE intense!
Within an hour, we arrived at Lynn Valley! YAY! Just across the suspension bridge would be the continuation of the Baden Powell Trail.

Tale of Tech Woe

I got a new phone a week ago. The salesperson recommended me to get a case for it but the cases were sold out for that phone. Therefore I did not end up buying a case. A friend whom has the exact same phone told me that his case seem useless, thus I was not eager to buy a new case any time soon. I never expect to damage my phone so soon. Today, as I was running for my bus and end up missing it, I took out my phone to look at the time to see if the bus was actually early or was I late. As I’m catching my breath, I took out my phone from my pocket and as I bring it closer to my face to see the time, the phone slipped off my hand. I watched it drop onto the cement sidewalk and bounces a few times. Muttering “ oh shoot” as I examine my phone, I noticed quite a few dents and scratches along the side of the phone and also one side of the phone seem to be popping open. I am quite upset for I just got this phone a week ago and I need to last three years with it! I believe, if I’ve gotten a case for it, the damage may not even be there!
